Market participants closely monitoring the Federal Reserve's upcoming policy moves have yet another reason to reconsider their strategies. Nigel Green, CEO of deVere Group, asserts that the Fed is unlikely to cut interest rates anytime soon, especially after the release of a robust US jobs report.

The US economy has added an impressive 256,000 jobs, surpassing most economists' expectations. As a result, the unemployment rate has dropped to 4.1%, reflecting strong economic activity in the country. In this context, the need for interest rate cuts is rapidly diminishing.

Green points out that the stable labor market, combined with inflation above the Fed's 2% target, provides "compelling reasons for the Fed to maintain its current policy stance." These macroeconomic figures contradict earlier expectations of potential monetary easing in 2025, he added.

Many analysts now recommend that investors adapt to the reality of persistently high interest rates. However, there is no need to despair: the current environment offers new opportunities for market participants. With interest rates remaining elevated, fixed-income assets are becoming increasingly attractive thanks to higher yields.

At the same time, Green warns investors against complacency, urging them to actively reposition their portfolios. He recommends focusing on strategic investments rather than holding cash. According to the deVere CEO, portfolio diversification and focusing on high-yield assets are crucial in this environment.

Strong jobs figures have boosted demand for the US dollar and attracted global capital. This situation poses challenges for emerging markets, where dollar-denominated debt becomes more expensive. However, it also opens up new opportunities for investors, such as currency pair trading. Notably, the Federal Reserve's next monetary policy meeting is scheduled for January 29th.
